Tomorrow I will meet with a board member of the military vehicle preservation society and check out his M37. He has the 4.89 gears I’m swapping into my truck this summer so we can give them a try before I do it. he will also school me on M37s. He is a teacher at a high school and they have an auto shop, so we are meeting there. I will take pics.

I wish Canada had a military vehicle preservation society, but we’re still using all our equipment from WWII

Oh no you aren’t :P I worked with some Canuskistanis in the Marines. Mostly UK and Aussies but I did meet a few. Canadians had M37s in Korea as well, with the better 251 engine!! Built in Ontario by Chrylser.

My SAAB has a 4.88 final drive...
When I tell people it’s geared like a truck I mean it. Overall ratio for 1st is the same as in a series II Land Rover.
