It’s difficult to fully take in a car in a 5 minute test drive. You get you initial impressions right away, but to get the complete picture, it takes a while. I’m not sure how long. Through my unnecessary car shopping I’ve gone and driven a few cars, 996 turbo, 997 Carrera 4, 2015 S5, 1M, just to name a few. I can tell you that the 1M felt like my 128i to drive with the power of my M3 and that WOT in second in a 996 turbo with the roof down is intoxicating as well as the fact that I found the S5 to be too soft and I had no idea how to put the car in sport mode to see if this helped.
As a car enthusiast, I like to drive cars before I form an opinion. That doesn’t always happen, although you don’t have to drive something to have an opinion on the ascetics. Car reviewers can only tell you so much, personal experience is much more enlightening, so here’s a non-complete list of cars I would like to spend some more time driving:
Cars I have driven:
1M
I treated myself to a test drive after an interview
C63 AMG
I almost bought this exact car.
F10 M5
This is the most powerful car I have ever driven.
W204 C-Class
WRX STi
I’m surprised as well I had no problem test driving this.
996 Turbo
The salesman thanked me for taking him in this.
997 Carrera 4
Audi S5
Cars that I have not driven:
Audi RS4
997 Turbo
DCT E9X M3
That’s right, despite owning an E90 M3 for 3.5 years, I’ve never driven the DCT variant.
BMW M2
Toyota Supra
I want to see if it lives up to the hype.
BRZ/GT-86
XJ-R
There are more, but I think that’s a good starting point, as my list also includes basically every vintage BMW.

It looks like someone had made it a reality.
