Hagerty has a time lapse engine build series.
And I had such high hopes for productivity today...

At the start of the video:
Pulls beetle in. “Fuck, where is the engine? OOHHHHH!” (Turns beetle around)

I love that they did a transmission video. They released this one last year while I was in the middle of rebuilding a Chrysler 41TE.
I feel that transmissions don’t get enough love. Despite being slushboxes, they have a lot fascinating parts inside, and it makes for a great video. In fact, I’d go as far as to say that watching an auto rebuild is more interesting than watching a manual one.

Oh yeah, I subscribed to them because of the barn find hunter but I look at various things. They build a who truck at a swap meet over a few days too.

Pretty impressive how much more appealing time lapse stuff is with a simple pan added (adding the pan not simple, of course). What does a motorized track setup like they’re using here go for?

About $1800. We have one here at the office.

That’s impressive, but not as impressive as this self-rebuilding engine:

I figured you did!

Even better if you slow down the speed to 0.25 times, to better see the details, and further reduce your productivity ... oh well

I love these videos, I think I’ve seen all of them so far, and several of them multiple times. The flathead V8 and the Ironhead Sportster are probably my favorites, but they’re all really fun to watch.
