Yeah, you can find them for like $25k now.

Seems like a hell of a lot of car for $25k.

But certainly a similar vintage 550i m sport or an S6 could be attained by a similar price? Or is Cadillac still not taken seriously as a performance car manufacturer?

Rode in one once and loved it. I’m trying to talk my dad into getting one to replace his meh Genesis V8.

True, also not brown... clearly garbage.

I like them and it’s a lot of car for that value. Would rather pick this up than a f10 or f01 BMW.

Do you like cars that actually work? Because neither of those cars will actually work.

Completely forgot about it. But does anyone here remember the V36 Infiniti G35 sedan?
![]() 02/09/2018 at 22:40 |

It doesn’t, which is why it’s more than half off after 4 years.
No love on the secondary market for a glorified bus pass.

Oooh, I remember seeing one of these at the autoshow and thinking it looked like a monster: especially in white with a black carbon hood. I especially remember all the Porsches being locked even the boxters and SUVs but this thing sat quietly 20' away and listing for more.

Nah, but I do remember that VQs sound like broken Greyhound buses...

That is sexy as hell and worth every penny. My car has the same hp figure, but I’m pretty sure not the same driving dynamics. That’s an insane deal.

I am drawn to the bus experience...

I do like cars that work. What I wonder is if the Cadillac kept its value compared to the Germans because in the end that drives many consumers at the time of leasing.
Thankfully car people tend to ignore those trends and buy whatever floats their boat. I’d personally avoid all three cars because I don’t like Cadillac’s design, the BMW isn’t really sporty, and the Audi probably has those plastic timing chain tensioners that everyone complains about.

It makes me physically upset that brand recognition is a thing leaving great cars like this and the ATS-V sitting on dealer lots while people pick up boring 528is and E300s.

Yeah but we have an opponaut whose transmission failed at like 40k miles on one...

The Cadillac has the far superior drivetrain, and drive “feel”. You take it for a spin, you know it’s an enthusiast car despite the lack of a manual. Modern(ish) 5series? Nope. Nice if you want something big and comfy, but still probably not at similar vintage Mercedes level. The S6 is stylish... But other than that it’s not competitive with the rest of the market.

Well yeah, but I could also just buy like at least 6 Corvairs.

Very probably, I’ve only heard good things from the Caddie.
But I don’t like it’s design, not that I’d buy any of those

Not my favorite either. I do like the full-on CTS-V though. Preferably wagon or coupe
![]() 02/09/2018 at 23:02 |

It’s unfortunate that Cadillac’s design language is so terrible; the ATS and CTS seem to be truly compelling vehicles, but they’re just so damn ugly .

Its a four cylinder 1.8 ton barge..... It can have it’s name misspelled and no one will bat an eye.

I don’t see myself buying a sports sedan.
I think the stinger taught me that weight will always fuck it up. If I was in the position to buy the V model, I’d likely end up buying an Optima wagon and a smallish sports car, rather than pretending one can do both jobs...

Remember the ATS-V? You can get one for about $20k off MSRP, brand new.

Perfect, I heard a hacked up G35 coupe getting on the freeway this afternoon and it sounded effing terrible, I now have an accurate descriptor. They can sound good with headers and a good exhaust, but almost none actually get that.

So, there were three reasons I didn’t get one, though I regret it a bit now.
1) The car was almost too planted. It almost felt slow because I couldn’t get it near the limit on the road. I was also expecting it to feel quicker in a straight line for some reason
2) the one you want is the premium. It has all the interior features you would want and it doesn’t have the ugly gauges that gm stuck with the base model. But these were quite a bit more a year ago
3) despite this I still wanted one, butcould not find a good one near me, which was a huge bummer and I wish I had gotten one

I think it was the diff that locked up, but yeah.

I remember, and I’d love to have one. I think I’d rather go the big comfy route with a CT6 though.

I sold one to a guy from NY and got to drive it a bit, truly would be fun to daily but no AWD turns me off living in CT. Also, I highly recommend the Kona Brown leather.
I wish Cadillac would add an AWD option of the CTS Vsport and ATS-V. Maybe we will see it on the CT5.
