It actually looks worse in photos, but holy crap the Alfa’s chassis rail looks like hot garbage!

Damn....welp, there’s nothing for it but for you to fix the chassis rail and then ship it off to me! :/
:P

I don’t know where you live, but I don’t want to move there.

Let that go a few more years and you might be able to get David Tracy interested.

Thats the thing! We can’t figure out how this happened! This car lived in California until 2015 and Oklahoma since. Best we can determine is someone hit something, hard, and... uhhh... then rust? Shits weird. Even weirder that to do the damage you would have had to take out a chunk of the front suspension, which appears to be both intact and original...

Right? Still some structure there...

Salt air and bad rustproofing?

It looks like someone hit something and gouged it open like the side of a boat.

It’s on an Alfa right? The rust probably made meaningful progress on the boat over from Italy.

That... actually makes some sense. The whole thing was pushed out (towards the door) and rotated slightly so... yeah. Could have got caught on something or went over a curb with some rebar hanging out...

Holy shit.... A lot of rust...

A grievous wound.

There were drugs transported in the frame rail and that is the wound where they were removed.

That, as the saying goes, is not good.

Seriously, why does rust look so much worse in pictures than it does in person?

At least in this case, dramatic lighting?
Thought it is pretty bad IRL too, just localized.
