I did the same exact thing with Laguna Seca! I had no idea where in the world it was, didn’t even know it was California really. Then I took a trip to Monterey California and on the way back to Los Angeles I saw the sign for Laguna Seca and was like holy shit that’s where this is!! I had played it in video games plenty of times but just never connected to where it is in the real world.

Same, and the only reason I was on that road is because the highway was full of traffic and the GPS found this way to be faster. You’d think that using a GPS would mean that you go straight to your destination and never see anything interesting around you, but in my experience the GPS lead me to some very interesting and new places.

I made the detour though there since hwy 1 was shut down for most the summer. Laguna Seca is an amazing place. They definitely weren’t afraid of elevation changes there.
