Having an XC70 as a daily driver, and then another car for fun. Inline-six and AWD seems responsible enough.

Yes, but in an XC70, people may think I have class. In a 3 series, people will think I’m more of an asshole than I already am.

Get an e91. You can’t be an asshole in a wagon. Also this is my plan. Pay off the E90 asap, maybe do a few little mods but noth8g fancy. So I’ll have my comfortable AWD Sedan, but then buy something old, and RWD. Maybe a e36 318ti. Then I’d be a BMW guy. That’s scary.

My sister in law has a 2012 XC60 and it seems to be falling apart. She’s trading it in on a VW to get something more reliable if that tells you how bad it is. It’ll be her third VW so she knows they can be finicky too.

‘12 XC70 T6 here. Bought used, only non-maintenance item has been an AC compressor bearing in 8000 miles.
