I was sort of mad last year when my wife bought me a $250 ladder than holds 350# and allows for stable stair placements in more than a dozen configurations.
Today I’m pretty happy, though. Lunch break for a telecommuter:
Don’t worry, Zoidberg, the chandelier is on the way out. I’m thinking about a giant glass ball with 100 phallic points coming from it.

Nice! I have a ladder much like this. It’s handy.

More of a dark tan, but the potato pic and old LEDs make it worse. All through the house. So sick of it. We’re on our third gallon (and that’s just one coat...always buy the good stuff because recoating sucks)

Airless sprayer, 6-ft wand extension. Problem solved.

Setup and cleanup, though...if I had 5 more hallways I’d be all over it :D

Mattresses and paint. Two things you really can’t spend too much money on.

I will say for mattresses, the past few years have seen a huge influx of amazing sub-$500 foam mattresses made in the US, a sub-industry enabled by vacuum packing and cheap shipping. We have two of them and will never go back to innersprings. It’d be like if you could ship cars in an Amazon box. Half the dealers would probably disappear.

Interesting. We spent over $1k on our last king set, which seemed like a fortune at the time. But it has lasted years, and continues to be the best money I’ve ever spent.
