I’ve seen lots of “this car will roll back on hills” signs. Idk but I’ve never really had that problem.

Own a car with a lightweight flywheel or a twin disc and I promise you’ll have that problem lol

Stopped on a hill I always make a point to roll back slightly when someone is coming up behind me. About 80% of the time this causes them to pull up short.

I always do this! If I’m fully stopped at a red light uphill and someone comes up behind me, I intentionally roll back 6" when he’s about 20 feet behind me. “Just letting you know... !”

That is such a good idea, always wanted something like that for my Super Beetle.

I drive an automatic car, but what I do whenever theres a big SUV or a bus behind me is slow down very slowly until being only a car lenght away from the stop sign and then I stop, when the bus or SUV stops maybe half a meter away from me, I drive forward the remaining space meaning that now they have a safe distance between me and them.

I’m not sure why it took me 10 years of driving stick to learn to use the handbrake, but it did. Never rolled again.

I grew up in a very hilly area and all of our cars had manuals, so needless to say it was one of the first things I was taught.
I’ve had people following me tell me that they think something was wrong with the wiring in my car since my brake lights weren’t on when we were at a stop light. I have to assure them that no, everything’s fine and working as designed...
