Which ones work well, which ones dont work at all?

I have the cheap $20 purple/orange one from Amazon (multiple different manufacturer names, but they all have the same sticker). It has worked great, but it is bigger than it looks.

The cheap ones are junk, but cheap. It’s easy to order one from Amazon and return it if it doesn’t work. This is the one I have (no longer sold): https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00A1O72TW
Sadly it is slightly too big for me to close the access door over the port. I might try one of the Vgate ones, as they seem to have a nice small form factor, though the reviews are pretty hit and miss.

I have 2 of those and they have been reliable for me in both vehicles. Big though, it hides away nicely in one vehicle but I used a ribbon cable in the other to hide it in another.

I have the WiFi version of one of these and it works great, so I imagine their Bluetooth one is pretty good:

Yes, exactly. If you’re going to keep it in, you need an extension cable with a 90 degree head, otherwise it sticks out, and in the case of my car, pokes you in the shin constantly.

I use a cheap black one from amazon. Like less than $20 and I used it with Carly and just to read OBD2. Works great.

This is the one I use. Then I downloaded Torque (paid version) from the Play Store. In most cars, you’re going to want to get an OBD2 extension cable to keep the thing tucked out of your way.
It works fine, I’ve had no issues with it connecting to my phones/tablets or pulling data from my cars. I don’t use it all that often though, so I can’t say much for its long-term reliability.

I have the BAFX one, and it’s even able to read my “mostly OBD2 compliant” ‘98 or ‘99 JDM Caldina ECU with some extra work.
No problems with it whatsoever, it’s the one Torque recommends

ypu, I broke mine on the trail one day cause it was poking out so far and I hit it on my way in. ( i was worried I broke my port!) I superglued it back together and its working great still.
