Tercel DX 4 speed manual

The asking price was $400-$800, I cannot remember. It was a former RV tow behind car and looked frightening. I really want one for rally cross or some similar event. I will be on the look out for one for shenanigans. What do you all think?

You should have. They’re basically indestructible (outside of a wreck), get fantastic gas mileage, and are cheap to operate.

My brother-in-law bought one of these new. When it was several years old, and beat to crap, my other brother-in-law drove the car, and found the oil light was on.
“Dave, how long has your oil light been on?”
“Uhhhh, I dunno, a few months or so.”
That car lasted a few more years.

My mom bought one of these back when I was 17. I kicked the shit of that car. It was a manual 5 speed. Ditched it twice (no body damage), rev limiter all the time. All the stupid shit you do as a teenager. Never stopped working. Highly recommend.

I remember fixing up a Tercel Blackhawk for a coworkers daughters first car. I think the only thing that made it a “Blackhawk” was the sticker on the quarter.

That is pretty excellent. Depending on drivability, it would be a great throw-away car.

The Tercel is a quality car that will give you many enjoyable miles of trouble free service with no problems. It has that classic 90s Toyota reliability.

I will keep on the look out for one.

I passed up on it last spring and I am regretting it now. I am on the look out now, but not in a hurry. This year would be nice though.

The good thing is whether good or bad shape you shouldn’t ever have to pay more than $1,000 for one.
