If he’s a gentleman, he pays regardless of how much money either of you have.

If you’re more modern, you split the bill, regardless of how much money either has.

My wife and I have a shared account. What this means is if I have $50 and she has $200, she has $250.

Do I know he only has $50 because he thought he was bragging about it? I’m going home and he can buy whatever he wants with that $50.

Do I know he only has $50 because he was telling me how rough life has  been lately and his car just broke down (again)? He’s pushing my sympathy throwing parts at the car, but I’ll buy.
