I believe this car is a PA-built “Standard” dated to around the time of the license plate (radiator badge is a huge help).

My grandfather took a trip “out west” from Ohio in the early 30's, in car that he described as having “little or no windshield and a box for a seat.” He and his buddy drove on dirt/mud/ barely roads for days, had a shotgun with them apparently (he claims to have taken out some number of mailboxes along the way), and I can’t imagine much else. I wish I knew more about that trip, but he would be 105 if he were still alive today; he died in ‘95 when I was too young to realize I should have sat down and just listened to him talk all day long.

“What a time to be alive” indeed.
