So, I started playing RDR2 the other day, and when I first rode into town, I noticed a glaring inaccuracy with the way traffic works: the NPCs ride on the right side of the road. In reality, the US rode/ drove on the left until the 1920s. This game takes place in 1899.

I had that thought and th en read on and got excited about some kind of r2d2 video game I somehow didn't know about. Then disappoint.

I did not know that. Cool factoid. I’m curious what pedestrian accidents were like during the switch over. Looking the wrong direction and such.

Not sure exactly when norms changed, but the ~1899 Edison footage shows people driving on the right in NYC. Here’s an example:
