Im not sure how I missed this, but an LS powered drag car finally got into the 5's.

It’s still a bit behind the 2JZ and Modular records, but it’s still very impressive.

Kudos to Dave Adkins and his 315 radi al camaro

Here’s the video.

Love how it hops to the line, gracefully lifts the fronts,  and then gets some serious squat in at half track.

That's like custom billet block territory.

Oh, without a doubt. They are seriously quick, especially on a 315 radial!

I think it’s literally a solid billet block with no water jackets.

But that’s par for the course essentially. Most everything in this range is concrete filled, billet, or a completely custom block that only mirrors the OEM block.

Still impressive, all things considered.

The SBE (stock bottom end) folks are nuts. They are nearly in the 6's with a stock short block.

If it’s got a custom block I’d hardly call it an LS anymore.

Most drag cars have custom blocks. Call it whatever you want, it’s pretty impressive.

The LS block is good up to a point, but it begins to show its limitations at extreme levels.

Only the 2JZ and 4.6 Mod motors use factory blocks as far as I know (albeit filled with concrete).

Even the majority of the crazy fast GTRs out there are running custom billet blocks. Ditto for the fastest 4G63 folks.
