Yesterday it was dirty so I dumped all my leaves from yard work into the boot t o take to the leaf dump site. After I used the leaf blower/shop vac to get the dirt out then cleaned the whole thing. I even got the oil stains out of the carpet by the pedals. The beater is looking ok now.

Check your rear springs. If they haven’t been replaced, they’re cracked. Even if you don’t think they’re cracked. They’re cracked. Especially if you haven’t undercoated the chassis.
And make somebody else do the work. The rear springs on these are a fucking nightmare when they aren’t broken.
