I haven’t been getting calls or texts but I’ve had people knocking on my door. Canvassers from both parties for the US House race and county assessor plus my state representative. Given the deeply red area that I live in it’s very different than usual.

I haven’t gotten a single text, though I did make the mistake of giving to ActBlue’s 50 state fund, which means I now get emails asking for money from basically every Democrat (also some Republicans). My spam filter is basically this :
I count 30 messages in the past 12 hours, and that’s just what got sent to spam instead of other folders.
Also Ted Cruz’s campaign has apparently reached out to my brother multiple times thinking that he was me.

I just got the same message, but with “Arizona” and “10/20". I mailed my ballot in a few weeks ago, so I don’t why these assholes keep texting me.

The thing I am most looking forward to is the temporary end of political commercials on TV and radio and a halt to the constant PSAs and Facebook posts intoning me to show up and vote or register to vote (I’m 33 freaking years old, I’ve been voting for 15 years, leave me the hell alone, and BTW, I’ll make my own decisions, thank you. ).
I say temporary, because there’s another election in 2020, and, much like Christmas, the season keeps starting earlier and earlier. I expect we’ll start seeing another barrage of political ads sometime next year.

I’ve started telling them that I’m a felon. Really makes for an awkward pause on the phone. No one has asked me what for yet, but I’ve got a great telemarketing story to tell them when it happens.
