I get one of these R1200GSAs . Yes, I still have the old Triumph, but now I can work on it without being without a bike.

LOL, as if Oppo would ever stop anyone from making any bad purchase decisions.

Why buy a BMW Moto rra d when you can buy a gently used base model BMW 5 series for the same price?
![]() 10/25/2018 at 15:55 |

Without Oppo he only bought one. Instead of like 3.5
![]() 10/25/2018 at 15:55 |

?????? huh.
wouldnt have pegged you for a BMW guy
![]() 10/25/2018 at 15:58 |

This bunch of enablers definitely wouldn’t have stopped you.

5er doesn’t leeeeeeeeeeeeeean through corners.

What we need, like all the guys with a truck and a project car, is a picture of this towing the Triumph.

neat.
we should go riding sometime in the new year. I’ve already stored all of my bikes for the winter :(

To be fair, it probably could...
Also, I now am of the position that we need to take pictures of you driving the Galaxie on the Skyway.
There was a guy with a Galaxie sedan on US129, which was of course, awesome.

hnnng! So nice. Needs more TKC80.

3.5 missed opportunities, I tells ya.

Gonna burn through the Anakee 3s on it first. Then we’ll see how many dirt and gravel forest roads I find...
![]() 10/25/2018 at 16:11 |

You’re not driving it fast enough through the corners then.
![]() 10/25/2018 at 16:13 |
|
Exactly. This is what he gets for flying without Oppo.
The one he got doesn’t even look rusty!
![]() 10/25/2018 at 16:14 |

Anakee3 is such a mediocre OEM tire choice for an ADV. I don’t understand it. Maybe they were dirt cheap for BMW?

The GSA is a bike I would love to own
![]() 10/25/2018 at 16:17 |

It couldn’t get going fast enough between corners on US129 ...

I ordered BRRAAAAAAAP parts for the Galaxie yesterday because BRRAAAAAAAAP. An h-pipe and two Porter steelpack mufflers. I am now poor. I also ordered new seat cloth so my seats would no longer taste like Grandma.
Working on getting the lathe in operation so I can de-stupid the front suspension as well. Also need new intake manifold gasket because antifreeze pee.

Probably also realizing that most of the buyers are looking at a 90/10 or 95/5 tire. It’s probably fine for forest service roads that are packed down, but not for actual stuff.
So once I burn these off, then I’ll be looking at TKC80s, Metzelers, and other options.

I wanted to be the one to make it rusty. Also, air/water cooled boxer twin.

So you’re a grouchy old man now? :)
![]() 10/25/2018 at 16:49 |

at least 2 of which would be non-running.

Adventureberk!!!
Wait a minute, people come here to be talked out of bad decisions? Pretty sure I’d have twice as much crap if I ran each idea past oppo.
![]() 10/26/2018 at 09:02 |

I guess that’s allowable.
![]() 10/26/2018 at 09:03 |

That’s better than our normal ratio.
![]() 10/26/2018 at 09:55 |

Nah. The grouches all ride Harleys. The rest of us who aren’t grouchy ride literally anything else.

That’s leather weather down South, as you can see from the pictures.

Point taken, those are the ultimate vehicle for the experienced person with a sour expression. The hard-cased adventure bikes attract the smug know it all middle aged engineer types, at least around Seattle. You’re skewing the stats : )
