The weather here has been absolutely perfect the last three weeks. All sun and no warmer than 66 degrees Freedom Units. But we’ve been living on borrowed time. PNW autumn will soon begin for reals.

Hey! Something on topic: I finally hauled away the 725 lbs of Holly, rhododendron, and lilac branches piles 11 feet high in my backyard. Rhododendron cuts are evil because they’re twisty, large, and light so they take up a lot of space. This first load was somehow only 260 lbs even after cutting tons of stuff into smaller bits and packing it as tight as I could.

And also: I got 24.1 miles per gallon on my last tank. That’s the best I’ve seen since.. . 2013 o_O

Lines at the city dump are much shorter during FOOTBAW season. In the summer, I'm idling/crawling for sometimes 30 minutes. And this thing barely idles.

Pretty much the same here, though it’s spring. It’s been dry and sunny for about a month here, which is so not NZ spring weather it’s creepy. Looks like normal service is about to resume though.

My bugbear at the moment is w isteria - I just spent Sunday afternoon tracki ng down and pulling up runners from one that some bastard planted in a stu pid place and left to run riot for 20 years. They go hundreds of feet - I’m maybe 10% of the way through killing the thing. That’s ass uming the really toxic shit I’m painting the cuts with doesn’t kill me f irst....

It’s getting cold here:

I seem to have lost all my warm  clothing though which is a problem. I tried to go hiking Saturday and all I could find was a fleece vest and my cycling jacket, plus some gloves and hats. Going to have to search some more or I’m going to be buying some new jackets at least.
