I like the teal one best. These seem like the perfect sized work truck for a small farm/homestead or a tradesman. And they have an honest, blue collar style that projects competence instead of testosterone.

I could buy that ‘77 for $5500, drive it to NH and sell it for $10k

That’s a good idea

Dad’s truck was a 72 Sport Custom, They bought it used in 1980,
y
ellow and black,
300 straight
6 with auto 3 spd.. We rode around with four of us across the
bench seat until he got his current F250 in 19
98
or so..

That’s a big jump up from kayak to battle ship. Do you still have the ‘72?

On paper, yes.
I can her my wife saying no from here, and she’s 50 miles away.
As it is, I *sort of* brought home an unnecessary tractor yesterday.

Yeah my wife never goes for my hair braind schemes either. I found a 90 Cabriolet for 400 bucks. The main reason it’s so cheap is rust around the windshield, but it has lots of good parts. I figure I could use a few parts as upgrades to mine and then sell the rest probably make at least 400 bucks profit and have a bunch of spare parts. That’s a win win. But it also means spending lots of time, and 400 bucks. Two things we don’t really have right now.

I wish, he ended up selling it for $1k to get it out of his yard..
We used to wax it monthly and keep it spotless, the kid who bought it ran it into the ground for a summer and then crashed it the first snowfall.. at least it was out of it’s misery.

This. Even though you might come out ahead, financially, it’s tough to justify and then the time.
Time is probably the biggest objection my wife has to the tractor. I’m deliberately putting it on the bottom of my list of things to think about.

RIP Ranger. :(

Yeah, how did that work out anyway?

Yeah the time is the big one. Just the day to drive out pick it up and bring it home i is a whole day that I could/should be spending on fixing up our house.
But cars are just so much more fun.

haha, oh boy. We brought it home inside a u-haul en
closed trailer, which was a little sketchy. Had to take the exhaust off to get it inside, then there was no ramp so we backed the trailer into a steep bank. It runs great. But a bunch of things don’t seem to work, or at least not the way I’d expect. The snowblower is... not going to “bolt right up” but I have a friend who’s going to look at it for me.
It’s at my parents’ property where they’ve got two barns, maybe it will spend the winter there and get sold in the spring. The jury is out.

Perhaps best to keep it out of her sight while she calms down anyway.
There’s a lot of fun you can have work you can get done with a tractor like that, but even more if you can get the attachments working.

Ha! She’s cool with it so long as it serves a purpose and doesn’t cost tons of money to keep around.
Man, if this thing had a loader/bucket, it would be a slam dunk
