Going to bed early tonight to kind of decompress. Going back to work tomorrow night. Here’s a picture of the destroyed tie rod on my car as it sits in the repair shop’s lot . Can you spot any other signs of potential damage or wear and tear that I have surely noticed, as well?

i’d only worry about steering rack damage and ball joints

I see a silver scratch that looks like where the inner tie rod slapped the frame(?) when it snapped. And there looks like a scratch or gouge on the shock spring (spot it above the outer tie rod locknut).

But yeah, I’d be worried about the rack and ball joints.

For what it’s worth, Mercedes has a policy that if the tie rods are bent the rack must be replaced because you can’t tell if there’s internal damage after sustaining such an impact.
