Dont think they make a Phantom in a LWB. its just THAT big.

EDIT: no wait they do. and judging by the photo, that is one. look how long the rear door is on comparison.

I love these, but I’ve always questioned how effective they are at actually serving as luxury cars. It’s not anything that’s wrong with the actual engineering of the vehicles, but just how much attention they will inevitably attract . Surely the point of a luxury car is to insulate you from the outside world, and how insulated can you possibly feel if everyone is constantly snapping photos of you?

My theory is that the Range Rover is actually the most effective luxury vehicle you can buy. Not that’s it’s actually anywhere near as nice as a Phantom or a Mulsanne (although the autobiography models aren’t all that far off) , but just because it’s comfortable enough without attracting any attention to itself and the people inside it. Plus you don’t have to worry about big potholes or bad weather as much, which is a benefit you don’t get from other stealthier luxury sedans  like an S class or a 7 series.

That’s just a super 7er (even shares a windshield, IIRC).

It was kind of a joke :)

The thing about the Phantom (especially the LWB version) is y ou don’t drive it. You’re driven in one. Plus they have curtains for the rear windows and backglass and a privacy screen between the front and back seats . They can take all the pictures they want, but the person in back doesn’t have to see it.

The EWB has chrome trim at the bottom of the doors, that’s the easiest way to tell. Love the color scheme of this one.

Perhaps for the LWB Phantom, but 80% of Rolls Royce owners drive themselves* and I can’t imagine that a Wraith or a Ghost gets any less attention than a LWB Phantom. If I had the means I would absolutely still get one, but I’d definitely keep a Range Rover or an S Class around for whenever I didn’t want to deal with the attention. God I wish I had problems like that to deal with.

* I’m struggling to find an official source on this, but Rolls Royce North America is quoted as saying it in lots of online forums and in reviews of their cars so I’m willing to believe it.
