Got a call from my wife while at work. Never a good sign. She left a voicemail. Long and short of it is that where she works has a lice outbreak and now we may have lice too. I feel so itchy now.  If I have to de-louse 4 cars.... God help me.

My wife works in Police Victim Services.  Both she and I get exposed to a lot of things that normal people don’t.

I’m not gonna lie, lice are the worst. My boys and my wife got them a few years ago. Thankfully, I was spared. You can do all the treatments and combs, but there is no substitute for simply taking the time to pick the nits out. Which, of course, is where we got the saying “nit picking.” Good luck.

Be glad it’s not impetigo. My grandfather used to work with orphans, and that was a major problem. I’ve gotten impetigo, and it is terrible.

Because they are children. And they used to play in the dirt. Which is where most skin infections come from. Hygiene is an amazing thing.

It’s unlikely the lice have taken up residence in the cars. In any case I bet there is an easy solution to kill any larva or eggs that are in the vehicle.

Here in Canada, it is mandated by law that police departments maintain a unit that gives support and service to victims of crime.

I have 3 kids (2 o n earth, 1 in heaven). There is one consistent with all kids under 4. There’s always something coming out of them. You can’t always see it, but it’s coming from somewhere.

Kids are gross, the only benefit is that they’re (normally) cute and can make you feel a lot of feels.

Still gross as all hell though

I was in a house with bedbugs today. I made sure to not touch any of the furniture. Things can be super gross.
