It doesn’t look that r idiculous to me but maybe I have just been playing too much Fallout.

Fair. “Ridiculous” in this case is “five shot revolver shotgun carbine with  accessory rails, short barrel, *windowed* spare ammo storage, pistol grip, and fiber optic sights”. So like somebody went to a mod bench and went HAM.

Bitchen! Looks neat.

I sometimes wish I was american. I have my PAL ( Possession & Acquisition License) but obviously can’t carry or keep anything in my vehicle.

I have never previously wanted to carry, but work takes me to... bad places where there are arms.

I love revolver pistols, but I’m still on the fence on revolver rifles. At this point in my life I would take a single shot, falling block style rifle like an 1874 Sharps Long Range Express with Vernier sights, over a revolver rifle, if I wanted the old Western motif.

I can report that shooting .45 kicks a flash of flame out of the cylinder/barrel interface, and it sounds when firing like somebody cracking walnuts with blasting caps on the end of a curtain rod. Hilarious.

I have looked at these several times but never gone for it. I think it would make a fun companion to my Public Defender Poly.

I did just buy a Franchi 48AL 12ga at a local pawn shop though. So, I need to wait a bit on anything else.

If I were at my desktop, I’d definitely fire up Fallout 4 and see how close I could get.

Alas my laptop is not exactly up to FO4 (I bet it could play 2! )

Fallout two makes my eyes hurt. Old graphics did not hold up

I can deal with the graphics from that era. I think last time I played it I felt like the turn-based combat was really, really slow. Granted I’m not a huge fan of real time third-person tactics games (my copy of Jagged Alliance: Back in Action sits mostly unused), and even modern turn based games can be really slow (XCOM does well, but Battletech is like molasses)

Is it supposed to be entertaining and useless? Or is that just a byproduct of bad design?

As someone to whom firearms are mostly just tools...this strikes me as useful as a Whitworth spanner.

Well, since it’s dual action, you can carry it ready to go, which is nice. You can also switch between different loads, which is nice. It doesn’t weigh much, and accuracy isn’t dreadful. It would make a hell of a rabbit or quail gun, and not too shabby for home defense or trail gun use.

At the end of the day it’s a somewhat limited capacity mechanically simple/reliable jack of  all trades with a silly hat. It’s definitely entertaining, though.

My problem is 4.10 shotgun is a weak ass cartridge. maybe as a truck gun?

This is a goofy looking rifle, how well did it shoot? Did you shot both cartridge and shell?

We shot both .410 buckshot and .45LC. We left the thread protector in for both - it has a choke that can be screwed in for tighter shot grouping, which has to be left out for slugs and .45LC so we didn’t bother putting it in.

It’s comfortable and the trigger feels great, though the shortness of the stock makes for an odd posture, kind of like some AR-15s. The stainless model has a longer stock, so might be better for real hunting use.

The only complaint anybody had was related to being an unusual grip angle for a longgun, which would be the same for anything with a semi-pistol hold, and that the dual action trigger pull made things weird. A rifle-style gentle squeeze of the trigger between breaths doesn’t seem to work well in double-action because you have to squeeze too hard, but setting the hammer for single shot use works fine, as does a technique a little more like a slow pistol aimed shot (funny posture) with double action. Consensus was that single is better for accuracy and careful shots, while double-action is better for shotgun, because it ensures you’re holding it tightly enough for the weird position.

We haven’t got a really good accuracy grade yet (it was twilight) , but it’s (obviously) much tighter than most revolvers for a casual shot. Easier for maintained quick shots on target than a .308 because the recoil is so negligible. Not crazy accurate, but easy to take reasonably accurate shots with or tolerably accurate quick shots.

Of course, it smokes up like a mofo. Obviously. When we brought it back in after about 25 .45 rounds and ~12 .410s, it was all hazy with GSR, particularly around the cylinder. Huehuehuehuehue

Would make for a great camping/trail gun, is what I’m saying. Probably possible to put a pistol grip from a normal Judge on instead of the Tuffy stock and keep it on a lanyard , but I haven’t looked at length to be sure that’s kosher.

There might be a couple in the steel pile at the property's dry  dump. If you want to dig for them then you'd be welcome to!
