Have had 3 days in the last 2 weeks where I could work, it is generally sunny and pleasant here this time of year, but this fall has been a very wet exception. The window was just a test fit. Frustration mounts.

I know nothing about construction. Is it bad for those framing timbers to get so wet?

I worry too , but it is a fairly common occurrence, as long as the don’t got sealed up wet and rot or mold should be ok.

Nope
That dries really quickly,
Timber yards keep them outside uncovered.

the chances of you building a house without it raining once are pretty small. I’f seen houses being built int he winter and they have to shovel out the family room as they are building the roof.

Nawww. Used to be a framer. It’s fine. Like glemon, Wacko, and Opposaurus commented on they get wet during construction all the time. The only time that rain is bad for them is if they get really soaked and then it gets REALLY hot and sunny . It’ll make a lot 2x4's and 2x6's twist up. Even just dry heat on its own will twist lumber up worse than any water ever will. Just work through the rain. It’s fine. Make sure your nail/staple guns are air oiled up and they won’t care, and most saws can run pretty wet with no zappy concerns . Just cover them in-between cuts or run that tarp off a corner. It’s just water.
I always preferred to sheet my walls prior to standing them. Helps keep them rigid and square; and stapling the sheets down helps keep the studs from twisting. But I always had other guys around to help stand walls . Much harder solo mode if you don’t have a bunch of wall jacks just kicking around.

The trick is to fly into it and embrace it.
