Haven’t spoken with him in years, but last I did, he was okay with getting rid of it (but in no rush). Last week I dropped by and it was out in a different yard and partially covered. At that time I took note of the condition of the top, which I had previously thought to be in far worse condition. Actually, under all that dust and dirt, the car as a whole is in really good shape. It looks to be all there except the Bertone windshield trim and the rear wheel center cap. Today it looks like he may be getting it ready to sell...

Wow. I didn’t know they did that. I knew about the Bertone, with its chopped vinyl top, but i never knew they mead a real rag top. i wonder if that was Volvo’s first convertible

Looks like they made quite a few. The very first car off the assembly line in 1927 was a convertible.
There was also the Sport.

I hope one of you buys it so I can live vicariously though you.

I’ve thought about it often. After my visit last week thoughts became much more serious. Now, after
today...I might be in trouble.

Get it, and either do a B230FT or a whiteblock
swap. The V6 is a dog, but a turbo 4 or 5
from a later car...

This is my thinking. I have a ‘
92 non-turbo. Runs like a top except for the ol’ piston slap
:-)x.
2 months ago I got new front brakes and today new rears with calipers. By February I’ll have new front
struts/
springs,
sway bar
and
control arm bushings, rear shocks and suspension bushings
. If I could find a place to store it, I could swap everything over. Of course I’d need a place to store
the original engine indefinitely
. W
ouldn’t want to bin that
.
