‘68 Chevelle post car. Before any of the toys he’s got now, my Pappaw had one in the 80s. Originally a I6/Powerglide car, he shoved in a very wicked 350 (He says it was supposedly 425 horses, but felt like way more, but, well.... I’ll stick with 425) and a 4 speed, and I’d imagine a 4.10 rear gear. Said 350 would later be put into his !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , which would later catch fire and burn to the ground. The engine, and both the 4 speed that was in the Chevelle, and the TH350 from the Camaro, are in his garage to this day.

Now, his Chevelle was a different shade of blue, more like this:

And rather than Torq Thrusts, he ran Cragar G/Ts

According to him, it was a real wicked car. I can imagine it roaring through a pair of glasspacks right now. Mmmm.

I’ve been really wanting to build a tribute car. Damn my lack of funds, space, AND time!

The 350 in its present state.

One of my uncles had a ‘68 SS396 back when those cars could be bought cheap. It was the pale yellow with black stripes and totally badass. It’s a good dream to keep alive!

I’m already swamped with his other cars! The ‘68 Camaro, the ‘67 Chevelle, the ‘89 Mustang, the ‘87 GN. It’d be cool to build a ‘68 Chevelle, but I think I’m already spoiled enough lol

But the dream doesn’t cost anything and doesn’t take up space!

Nice! I like the pillar less cars better myself, but the post cars are the mark of the serious racers to me - all about t he reduced weight.

That CL listing is a steal.. you’d need almost twice that amount of cash to build it.

We’ve got a ‘69 pillar less one in that same light blue sitting in the grove at my parents place. It was Dad’s first car. I’d like to try and save it someday but it’s pretty rough. For now it’s a parts car for the other ‘69 we’re slowly restoring.

Yeah! The low price is likely due to post cars being less valuable to most. I think they’re cool.
