They're delicious. Definitely in the top 5 best "meat inside a bread pocket" foods.

I just counted 15 restaurants
selling pupusas in Portland OR. But P
ortland is at the cutting edge of what
ever is cool before it is cool everywhere else.

Because the gyro and sha warma exist.

Partial to the Chinese/Taiwanese versions myself:

Too ‘furren’; and therefore scary.

That’s surprising to hear. I love pupusas but haven’t noticed them much at all out here in Portland. There is a pretty legit Salvadorean hole in the wall off 185th and TV Highway that does them just right though!

El Bien Gusto Pupuseria on 82nd near Johnson Creek Blvd is pretty good too

Because you can’t say “
pupusa” without saying “poopoo” or making it sound like a reference to female genitalia.

I am legitimately going to target this restaurant next time I’m there, as I have a project in that area (209th and TV HWY).

If you’re that way often, then the food cart pod in the same lot as O’Reilleys has a legit Lebanese spot as well. Small family run business- guy and his wife and/or mom there most days, closed Tuesdays. They make their breads from scratch for their wraps, heaven!

Damn that looks good but straight out on the other side of town from my regular routine :( Added to the list though, thanks!

I’m there about once a month for an overnight. My office in down town near pioneer square so it’s hard to pass up the food cart options.

My team did happy hour at BG’s Food Cartel just off TV Highway in Beaverton last week . I couldn’t attend but hear the empanada place there is amazing. Also seems like a good place for beers and cocktails in general as well, and a variety of good food options .

Don’t know where you live but here in Northern Va I’m probably always 5 minutes away from a pupusa place.

Yeah, plenty of options just south of Seattle, too. But not as common as tacos, burritos, burgers, etc.

Also good

p.s. curious what you’re doing at 209th & TV? There’s not much there is there? I’m actually just a few streets over on 198th at you know who.

That's like half of the appeal!

They ARE delicious and I haven’t had one in years. They are quite rare outside of major metropolitan areas. I have never seen them for sale anywhere in PA.

We are putting in a 66-inch diameter water line north-south. It’s in the design phase right now and I’m responsible for the piece from 209th/farmingtion north about 5 miles.

There's a place in Paterson, NJ called La Pupusa Loca. I laugh a bit every time I see it.

Gosh I need to get some I haven’t had them in a very long time.

Because we haven’t figured out how to stuff them with cheese or dip them in Mayonnaise...
