2017 370Z sport with 22k on the odo for $23,000...TIL these don’t even have naivgation. The interior looks so spartan that my 10 year old Civic looks a little more well equipped

Canadians can get a brand new base model 370z for 23k USD. Probably even less than that. I keep getting tempted to look into it. You can get the nismo goodies piecemeal installed as you see fit and have a pretty badass little 2-seater for under 30k.

If you don’t mind the extra 300Lbs you can basically get this used for the same price. And the interior is much better (plus Navigation!)

I have yet to find a G37 manual in my area that doesn’t have triple the mileage and/or been: crashed, stolen, damaged, etc.

I remember like the 350Z when it was a new car, and I still kind of do, but the 370Z has always resided at the bottom of my sports car want list.

Yeah. It’s become a bro vehicle just like the 350/370 but good examples are still out there you have to cast a wider net.

Yeah fair. Despite having access to transporters, I’m not looking to buy too far out of state

The only thing older in Nissans line up is the Frontier. I believe the frontier comes with a 2 valve carborated engine and a three in the tree.

It’s got the hand crank, right?

From what I’ve heard, the auto suits the G37 more than the manual. The early 5-speed autos are perfectly geared for autocross at the cost of highway fuel economy. Our SCCA region has one on slicks with minor suspension mods and it’s a killer without a doubt. The later models with more gears aren’t as superior at autocross but make for better highway cars.

Yes and I believe you have to put oil on the lamps so the headlights work.

If it ain’t broke (and doesn’t sell), why fix it?
Nissans gotta dedicate its production to all of the Rogue and Sentra rental cars, after all.

Interesting. I dont NEED a stick, but the option to have one is nice. I havent run an autox ever with my car, doubt thats gonna change with whatever i have next

Headlights? Next you're going to tell me you don't even need the horse team!

Counter point.
Sure its dated, but it’s one of the few basic sports cars left. It’s what a I like. Factory nav ages terribly any ways. It’s N/A, manual, rwd. Not unnecessary tech to over complicate it.

OK, at 23k, that is a heck of a bargain. It starts at $30,000 even here, which is noticeably a bit more than a base model Mustang, Camaro, or Challenger. For low to mid 20s though, that’s a fair price.

See you’re the first person that I agree with and I’m desperatly trying to not buy that car.

Co-worker had one of these. It rode like a buckboard and had interior materials that looked sketchy for a Versa rental. Kind of drony too, but swift. Not an attractive design, needs an update yesterday. The 03 looked a lot better, but at least the latest lost the fangs.
Funny thing, he traded it in on a (guess, Seattle)...
Outback.

Another benefit of the Z’s age is a very well-developed aftermarket. All kinds of upgrades are available to make it even more fun.
This is the last “balanced” sports car. The Miata and BRZ are more “momentum cars” and the Mustang/Challenger are more “muscle cars.” The upcoming Supra will cost 2x what the Z does.
Buy one while you still can.

Rather than focusing on how dated it is, let’s talk about why...
The reason is because there’s no successor in the pipeline. Maybe it sells okay, maybe it doesn’t. But it certainly doesn’t seem like there will be another one coming. And this one is just living out the last days of its life.

I bought a 350Z brand new in 2006. I still use it to get me to work every day. Its been extremely reliable while seeing oversteer on the regular. Because oversteer is easy to get and easy to control with these cars. That’s what they do. Don’t buy a base model, they don’t come with an LSD. Also, if you care about having a nice interior, don’t buy the car.
Its a smallish car with a biggish engine, with power sent to the right place with
an honest to god 6-speed manual in between the engine and the rear wheels. I have a real hard time thinking you wouldn’t be able to pay just a bit more for a brand new one, Nissan dealerships have got to be trying everything to get these things off their lots at this point, the car is ancient.
Buy it for being the right combination of size and power, keep it for the usable oversteer.

The two big Nissan dealers by me are run by people who like to price gouge and charge our rageous fees. This Z is basically two hours from me, and is the best priced within 500 miles

The 350 or more likely 370Z, is on my real-life bucket list of cars to own. I’d prefer hard-top over convertible and I’m happy they’ve kept the car un-updated. I’d prefer if more cars hadn’t been updated so much.
