Nice. I envy those who live in the PNW.

I have to go up there sometime. Funny how it’s one of my favorite places in the US even though I’ve never been there. Countless videos and pictures have convinced me.

A few years ago I took the fintail on a similar drive around Rainier with the MBCA. The car performed just fine, and it was a real experience in the old dear. I was maybe on some of the same roads. People liked this pic, with a nice W123 in front of me:

Hearing my exhaust then hearing yours two seconds later when you’re behind me around tight curves in the second video is a rare treat. That was a great drive.

Feels wrong, but I should have a ton of sound-deadening material arriving in a few hours to hopefully reduce cabin noises significantly

Isn't the whole wind thing going to still be the overbearing noise in the car? Unless you are talking about being a heathen and drive with the top up. I guess this could be a fruitful effort if you were to get a hard top though.

Daaaaaamn that's what it looks like up there when it isn't foggy?? Man we missed out. I 100% have to come back and do it again on a sunny day.

No wind isn’t the problem (well, not the main problem), it’s mostly the banged up exhaust, and then road noise. We’ll see how much this helps. I don’t feel like changing out exhaust components to get things quieter when I’ll eventually either go turbo or engine swap anyways...

Oh good, you were able to recover some videos! Seeing the mountain in the first video really makes me wish we stopped there the first time lol. Missed out on such a perfect view but I guess that just gives motivation to come back another time.

Neat, looks like a good drive, Mt. Rainier is awesome! Bummer on the ticket though.
