I decided to try a salon near my office instead of driving 45 minutes to the stylist I usually see.

I wanted this

I got this

Believe it or not, I don’t have kids, they don’t play soccer , and I don’t want to speak to the manager. But I do want to go cry and never show my face at work anymore.

I’m gonna go buy a purple polyester wig to wear for the next 4-6 weeks.

I always ask my wife why she drives an hour and a half round trip, and spends $200 to get a haircut* . Your story is the answer.

*That also includes coloring. Pink is her favorite.

It’s too short to do anything with now. I ended up with this same shitty haircut once in high school and ended up shaving it to a pixie cut, but I couldn’t really pull it off then and it would be worse now.

Do you have enough left to shave the sides and go with a short pu nk-ish look? That may not be your style, but it’s better than what you got stuck with in my opinion anyway.

Oh man I feel your pain. I lived with a colleague who came back from the salon with her hair in big curls. She walked into the living room and she was just short of crying. I sat with her and brushed out some of the curls then gave her a relaxing hand massage and manicure then cooked her her favourite meal.

Apparently she couldn’t get the member of staff she had request in advance and they gave her what I can only assume was a trainee (though was told she was an experienced member of staff and had been there for years). They gave her a 10% off voucher for her next visit because it wasn’t what she wanted.

((also, only my opinion, but I really love that hairstyle, especially if layered and coloured right))

There are dad hair cuts too, mildly short with about 30-50 % of your hair missing on the top side.

In university I lived in residence...uni was an hour from my preferred hair place that I went to when home, so I of course couldn’t go there. There was a place a 12 minute walk away that did a decent job similar to what I got at home (not perfect, but fine). I went there one day and there was a lady who was a recent immigrant from Europe who spoke very little English. She was very nice and I tried to explain what I wanted (I get a blended cut, finger length with scissors on top, elect ric razor on the sides and back 1/4 inch). She misunderstood and started to do my whole head with the razor. I ended up looking like a fresh military recruit...

Last summer I got my hair cut at a new place. It was highly recommended on a few sites... I told the hairdresser that I just wanted a couple inches taken off the ends to clean it up a bit, cause it hadn’t been cut for almost a year. He took off a full twelve inches. I was so pissed, because the hair at my temples is pretty thin and whispy, and doesn’t grow very fast, but it was finally long enough that it would reliably stay in a pony tail. It was about six months before I could get any of my hair into a pony tail at all. 14 months later I still can’t quite keep it there. He also without asking took a full fist and a half out of my beard.

I think it was about three weeks before my default answer to “Wow Gog, you clean up really well” mellowed out a little from “go fuck yourself”.

Guy here, but believe it or not, I’ve felt the same way you describe. It sucks. Fortunately, hair grows. I would suggest extensions, but that’s a expensive and doesn’t sound like it would solve your particular problem.

Real solution; the hair doesn’t make the smobgirl. It sucks but it will get better and better each day. Try not to let it ruin your week and post a nasty yelp review. Go back to your usual stylist and tell her you’ve learned your lesson. - or there’s always the Shoei..

I’m really sorry. This should at least grow out in 6-8 weeks to the point where I can do what I wanted. Cutting off that much at once unexpectedly  is just horrible.

Pink doesn’t work on me but I used to do purple. And now I’m really torn, because I LOVE the color blue  this girl’s hair is but I’m not sure I want to go back there.

I’m hoping I can mitigate it a bit with a flat iron and some paste. I don’t mind a shaved or shorter look but I reaaaalllly can’t pull it off, and with my tomboyish interests it makes dating a lot harder.

I went to get a hair cut earlier this year and told them to leave half and inch, she thought I meant a #2 buzz. Guess who had a lot less hair than expected.

I’m sure you look great! Girls always freak out over their hair when the rest of us think it looks beautiful. I’ll never forget when my ex cut her hair she was devastated but the whole time I was like “Babe y ou look hot as hell!” once everyone was complimenting her hair she was okay and  decided not to go full on Brittney and shave it all off.

She moved in with me as I thought she needed some time away from her mother and sister who she didn’t get on with. Her diet wasn’t great as I found when one of her acrylic nails came off. So I’d cook her breakfast when we both finished work, get up (not always to do her lunch) and make her dinner before we went back to work. Her attitude was, ‘if I’m having a bad day, everyone else will’ and took it out on her friends, so we had some good heart to hearts as no one else would tell her. I enjoyed doing her manicures and pedicures, nail repair and giving her massages (she loved her hands and feet done and fell asleep while I gave her a back massage).

She was six or seven years younger than me and I enjoyed having someone to look after.

This is exactly why I started cutting my own hair. Took me a whil e to get the hang of it, but now I can do it whenever I want and try multiple styles without having to explain what I want to someone else. I even started cutting and coloring my GFs hair, too.

I guess it depends, if you show a picture of what you want then it should be more straight forward.

I have curly hair and I swear every time I get my hair cut, usually buzzed because no one can evenly cut my hair, I hear oh no you’re cutting off your curls. Yes, don’t worry, they grow back.

I was not pleased.....I wasn’t upset at her as it wasn’t her fault....she was knew and didn’t know the langauge, but I was a grump at the situation for days while my friends had a load of fun picking at me until the novelty wore off, lol. (Such as all standing up and shouting TEN HUT when I walked into a room...

I get a different haircut every time I visit a barbershop/salon. Every....... Time. I tell all of them the same exact set of instructions, and every single one of them interprets said instructions differently, in fact my barber (the one I keep coming back to and who does a pretty good job) will cut it differently every time too! The cut that I’m looking for is a simple low fade with about an inch on top. Typically I’ll walk out looking like a Marine out of boot, at best the cut will be okay, at worst it will really, really suck.

My wife goes to get her haircut, and gets maybe 1/2" off, keeps the same style, and then asked me if I like the new haircut. I say yes, of course, but deep down....it’s just a little shorter....so.....
