check this thing out. Is a 4 door, 4 seat, hatchback, “trike” with the two wheels on the wrong end. And this wasn’t built in 1975, but rather 2012! and sold legally in the US.

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

It looks to be rear engined so that shoul d help a bit with stability . Seller claims 60MPG and the “ car” has less than 3,000 miles on it. I like it, but I’m calling Cp on it, and hella Cp on the original MSPR of 8,000.

Kinja'd!!!

look at that center mounted headlights. SO CUTE. also it seems a bit silly that a car this narrow has two windshield wipers.

Kinja'd!!!

the interoir is very basic as you’d expect.

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

Would i want to take it for a spin. Hell ya! would i pay 4 grand for it HELL NAH.

That begs the question, does one need a motorcycle endorsement to drive it legally.

Those headlight switches are pretty terrible. You’d think they’d have been able to find some existing part that would do the job.

Edit: Here’s MN’s licensing requirements: https://dps.mn.gov/divisions/ots/mmsc/motorcycle-license/Pages/laws-regulations.aspx

This is presumably classified as an Autocycle, and thus not hit with all the motorcycle specific regulations.

Yeah, even in the realm of cheap Autozone switches there are better looking options.

“ Sny der ST”

I’d previously said that the Edge was worst bastardization of those two letters. I now stand corrected.

I would thinks as it’s registered as a motorcycle. altho in Wi you wouldn’t need a helmet as there’ s no beain bucket law in WI.

i just noticed the tiny motorcycle licence plate. It looks right proportionally on the car.

Looks like a mixture of 2004 Daewoo Matiz and what became the Chevrolet Matiz after Chevrolet took Daewoo out of Europe and replaced it with their own badge.

Autocycle:

Has three wheels and a steering wheel. 169.011 subd. 3 (a)

Operators are not required to have a motorcycle endorsement, or 3-wheel restriction, just a valid driver’s license. 169.974 subd. 2 (a)

I assume it’s this, and so you are ok.

What state is that for?

wow. I guess it’s not surprising that they used a b unch of existing parts. they just cut 4 inches out of the middle and took a front wheel off.

This also explains why it all looks like a 2002 model rather than a 2012.

This is good observation. I figured it had to be based on something existing, as it’s a bit too polished for a small niche auto otherwise.

Minnesota (to match the plates):  https://dps.mn.gov/divisions/ots/mmsc/motorcycle-license/Pages/laws-regulations.aspx

That’s what I figured, but also wanted to ask since things vary state to state. Seems things are pretty lax here in SC, so I bet it wouldn’t be that tough to legally drive that thing.

There are still a few of these running about where I live.

Chevrolet had a gimmick for buyers of the Daewoo Matiz as people were holding off buying a Daewoo because they knew that Daewoo was leaving the U.K. to be replaced by Chevrolet. So for nearly a year before the Daewoo was to be replaced by Chevrolet.

Chevrolet said if you buy a Daewoo Matiz, when Chevrolet was to take over, return your Daewoo and swap it for a brand new Chevrolet Matiz.

Hand in your Daewoo,

Kinja'd!!!

Get the keys for a new Chevrolet.

Some imported Chinese thing probably - also probably powered by a single or double-cylinder motorbike or scooter engine.

Saabkyle04 did a video on a similar Chinese trike a few years back:

Its a rebadged Jindalu FL600ZK, made by Dezhou Fulu Vehicle Company in Dezhou, Shandong, China . Though, I believe it does use a body shell from the Chery QQ (Matiz copy). One of the first Chinese cars sold in America.

ZAP Vehicles sold an electrified version of the same car as the ZAP Xebra for a time during the 2000s. The third headlight had to be added for the US market, because some states required (maybe still do?) a central headlight on motorcycles. And the only way this was getting on the road was as either a motorcycle or a low speed neighborhood electric vehicle, since it certainly wasn’t going to pass a crash test.

Yup, the Wildfire WF650-C was a rebadged Sandi S D650ZK from Jiangsu SANDI Vehicle Manufactory Co., while the above thing is a Jindalu FL600ZK from Dezhou Fulu Vehicle Co. (also trading as Shandong Jindalu Vehicle Co.)
