It has not rained in many months here, and we got our first rain. This light rain was sufficient to kill power at my office, so here I sit in the dark. My phone is losing power, so I may have to go sit in the car This day is not good.

Im expecting, or was expecting, something similar with the rain we were supposed to be getting right now but aren’t. No generator at the building?

This happens to me a lot...then I usually have a couple hours of laptop juice, LTE internet, and cell phone to keep me going. Remote employment FTW!
/no sick days
//no weather days
///no power outage days

My grandma and her crops will be very appreciative.

A light rain killed the power. This sounds absurd to me.
“It has not rained in many months here ” This sounds foreign to me.
- The other side of the country.
I hope they fix your power quickly.

I feel you.
I’m at home and logged into an important webex with a vendor sharing progress on software development. My pc died. Charger is at work. Talking trough software scope is difficult

Rain is no joke around these California parts. It is truly a spectacle when it actually does rain.

It’s not about the rain, it’s about the soils/ ground, the slopes, and the lack of vegetation. Fresno averages 11" per year. Seattle, famous for its rain, averages 38" per year. Baton Rouge averages 62" of rain per year.

We’ve been getting soaked since yesterday. Everything is starting to flood, but thankfully only high winds or lightening tend to kill power here. It’s been a really wet summer for us. Just had rain two weeks ago as well. Last year we went the whole month of September without any rain.

Ye’, Seattle weather is rather similar to that of where I am, we get a lot of rain and weather extremes.
How has it taken the power out though? Trying to understand the U.S. infrastructure for rain to do so.

He’s just unlucky. The only time the power goes out for us in Baton Rouge is when a big tree takes out a power line. There must be something in his area which has a leak that needs repair.
