Over the years I’ve grabbed the occasional HW or MB car (and a few from Maisto as well, like that officially licensed S-Class amongst others) and tossed them aside to enjoy later. Lately I’ve been trying to do a bit of housecleaning and gathering like items together, and what you see above is a few years of purchases. There are a number of duplicates, with most of those being completely unintentional (I really did mean to buy three of those green Dokas).
These are just the ones still in the package, and only the ones I’ve found so far; there may be more. I’ve also grabbed lots of used ones over at the Goodwill Outlet where everything is sold by the pound, and those seem to be filling up another tub. I’ll save those for later posts.
Since I have so many unintentional duplicates I’m wondering if there’s someplace to trade these things. I doubt that posting them on eBay would be worth the trouble. Obviously I’m not a hard-core collector, just someone that enjoys a nice model and that partially wants to regain his youth...

That’s awesome. Thank you!
Any FAQ or guidelines tucked away somewhere?

Bro, why are they still in the package? Im 26 and when I buy Matchbox or Hotwheel those babies come out of the package. I only have one garage queen Matchbox and its has the “vintage style” cardboard box so it still comes out every once in a while.

Official HWEP trade guidelines here:

As for LaLD rules, we don’t allow scalpers, swearing, or using other people’s work without credit. I sent you an invite to the site, we’re going to do nothing but enable you!

No problem!
I don’t remember to be honest. Try searching the tag HWEP. It’d be buried under a lot of posts though in that tag.
Here’s how it works. Somebody, you could even edit this post to do it, makes a post of what they have to trade and possibly a list of wants. People respond if they’re interested with what they have to offer. If the two of you decide to do a deal, you exchange emails so you can privately exchange addresses. The whole thing works on the honor system. I’ve traded with dozens of people, even internationally, and I’ve never been burned. I can’t say it’s never happened to anybody though.

Well, I’ve just been grabbing them when I see them at the market or Target or wherever and just set them aside for later. I guess ‘later’ has officially arrived, and it’s time to get those buggers out and on display. Perhaps part of me was concerned that it might adversely affect the value and damage them if I took them out of the packaging, but yeah, I’d rather have them out and on display, provided I can find a nice display case in which to keep them.

Up here, at least where I live, we get Majorette dinkies again too aside from Hotwheels, Matchbox, and Maisto! (Majorette was gone for awhile from North America in the 2000s but are back now)
I picked up a Majorette Citroen DS4 the other day! :D Looks exactly like this one (Not my pic):

Well, I do have a few that are out of their packaging:

If that’s an original Matchbox 34 VW box, be careful with it, that one is always in a little demand, and has some value.

This is awesome. I did not know it existed.

Yeah, I really should treat that one better. I need to find the trays with the individual slots that I have around this junkyard and stash it in there.

Is it an empty box, or do you have a vehicle for it?

All original, and damn near perfect. One of my favorites.
One of my other favorites is a Ferrari 250GT Lusso, although it’s a bit worn and doesn’t have the box.

Nice. Yeah, put that one aside. It will always be worth something, where I think some modern stuff has room for depreciation.

I open up all of my hotwheels and they’re in my carrying case’s and on display. So it is time to open those up and put them on display thumbs up.

When I saw the anniversary Hot Wheels series for the Camaro, I had to have them. I picked through the bin at Walmart until I had two complete (7 car) sets. I gave one to my son and kept one for myself. I was a big Hot Wheels kid, and really try not to clutter up my life with extraneous junk, but the Camaro (and Firebird) were such defining cars in my younger life, I had to have the complete set.
I do need to get a Firebird set, if such a thing exists.

Majorette re-entered the US market this year. Toys-R-Us has a ton of them.
