Makes me want cars I shouldn’t want.

Frankly Retro Review is the best part of Motorweek and, as far as im concerned, the whole justification for its long life and stale format.

They’re the only reason I’m subscribed to Motorweek’s YouTube channel.

After Bajabusta/TestDriveJunkie took off uploading old MotorWeek videos, MotorWeek themselves probably had to step in and upload the videos themselves. I think he runs a website now where he posts retro car ads and stuff.

I binged them a couple weeks ago. It feels so weird to hear good praise given to some awful vehicles. Ex: 1st gen Explorer

Hmm makes me wonder if I should give old old Top Gear (1977 - 2001) another chance.

Pretty sure that’s the Buick Reatta. Only car I can think of that had a CRT touch screen.

I think a few other GM cars got it too, possibly as an option, but I forget which.

Yea, they were generally pretty optimistic and seemed easy to please. I don’t recall them ever hating a car as a whole, but they definitely were opinionated about some features.

I don’t watch current Motorweek, possibly because I’m not in the market for anything new, but I did watch it religiously as a kid in the 90s. Definitely neat to see period reviews of cars that have just about gone extinct. And learn about cars/features I had no idea existed, ie AWD Mercury Topaz.

I love retro reviews so very much!
