Was underwhelmed by the sea of beige. Most of the manufacturers left their interesting stuff at home in favor of covering the carpets with as many crossovers as possible. No Toyobaru, no ST or RS, etc. So I left early to scout locations for Oppo Rally.
Have some photos that may or may not be related to Oppo Rally

The Atlas looks so depressed. It’s like if Eeyore was a car.

Dallas is the same way we get no launches or concept cars. We may see an unreleased car at least. Seems they save the big stuff for LA, Detroit and NY. Really a shame.

Wait..... is that a GT2 I spy there?!?!?

Never realized the Atlas and Mustang both have a frownie face. I miss the days of smiling Mazdas.

Now everything has to be super angry.

There were a few exceptions to the beige. Porsche brought good stuff, and there was a hypercar paddock with a Huayra, Veyron, 918 Spyder, and Aventador SV behind a “look but don’t look close” barrier. Those cars were mobbed (or more accurately the barrier was mobbed) so I didn’t bother trying for a photo.

We didn’t even get much in the line of not-yet-released. No Ascent for example

Not gonna lie, I don’t hate the Atlas after the road trip in it. If I had to carry 5+ people (or 4 plus a dog) I’d seriously consider it.
But yeah, that’s not a happy face

DC is the same. It feels like a combined car lot where all the dealers bring in their beige-o-matic cars for sale. No super cool exotics, weird displays, or neat things to do. And many of the dealers remove the shift knobs before people steal them. It’s all rather depressing.

DC’s is now, and same thing. Any preproduction or one offs are up in Detroit

It wasn’t just the prepros and one-offs that were missing, it was the already existing enthusiast cars. Like I said, both Toyota and Subaru decided not to bring a BRZ86, Ford left
all
their hot hatches at home. In fact the only hot hatch there from anyone was a single GTI

Wait, that’s in my town, if you need help let me know.
Also completely agree with the show, very boring. Even the semi interesting vehicles were locked.

The boarded up building or the mausoleum? (don’t use names in your reply, don’t want others to know where I was)

Ugh. That’s poor. We just get dealer stock, but it’s at least thorough.

What time were u there? I was there around 2-5

11-1:30. I tried to get there early to beat the post-church flood

I considered bringing my own shift knob. No joke
