We live in a time where something like this has to be taken seriously as opposed to shrugged off as a glitch in the system. How crazy. A mistake warning was broadcast to folks on Hawaii today.

the problem with glitches like these - once you have one, a good portion of people are going to assume the second alert is just another glitch as well.

Much like the first time my phone started flipping out because there was a tornado warning in the middle of the night, I am surprised but pleasantly so that such a warning system exists.

it’s less pleasant when the police issue an AMBER alert, and everyone in the pub/restaurant (who hasn’t turned off those alerts) has their phone blast that tone.

We have some friends that moved over there from upstate NY a couple years ago for work - they were pretty freaked out... But stuff like this is gonna happen.. I’m kinda wondering if there is going to be a little baby bump 9 months from now in Hawaii.
