American has been phasing out MD-80's, but they aren’t all retired yet - I’m on one right now. The A321 that I was on before this was objectively nicer in most ways, but I’ll miss these big windows.

Nice! I always liked the Mad Dog - fewer middle seats, and whisper quiet in the front half of the airplane. Enjoy the ride!

I also was on one the other day. Still a nice ride even if a bit long in the tooth, and relatively quiet if you are seated in front of the wings.

I will never miss sitting in the back row of the Mad Dog behind the engine. Objectively the worst seat in commercial aviation.

Best back seat - The middle seat in the last row of a Dash-8. All the legrooms.

Never flown the Dash 8. But I’ll take the exit row of just about anything. Extra leg room and the first one out of the plane.
