No hooliganing but that brake hold feature should be nice for hills and general laziness

uhg I hate it and I can’t turn it off!
First time I was on a hill and it engaged, I stalled 3 times in a row before I realized I had to slip the clutch a lot more than I normally would to overcome the brake hold feature. I can take off on a hill all by myself!

I think it’s a hill-hold feature, so you won’t roll backwards on a hill when starting in a manual transmission.

Will the e-brake automatically turn off? On my car, if you start moving with the e-brake on, it will disengage.

Yup, it probably will. I have a base 2.0 and I accidentally hit the button before I was completely stopped, and I quickly became completely stopped. I was surprised.

It will engage at very slow speeds. Haven’t tried it out at higher speeds, as it was an accident in the first place (wasn’t completely stopped when I hit it).

Why even have a button for brake hold? Just do a double pump brake like everyone else.

Damn dude calm, don’t have to use it all the time. This is actually a feature that may help get more people into driving manual boxes because a common reason why people are afraid is they don’t want to worry about hills.

But.....clutch engagement points are all you need to learn on each car. Plus it’s an excuse for those damn electronic ebrakes. I’ve only driven a few cars with hill hold....and it’s kinda annoying....every stop here is on a hill and they don’t really disengage right at least in the Subaru’s and BMW’s I’ve driven with them guess I’m just used to driving without it. 4 out of 4 people I know with it have it turned off.
