I think the late-90s—very early 00s was one of the best periods in luxury car designs. Right before everyone went to bloated blobby messes.

Hard to say. The W140 is my second favorite S-Class, after the W126.

Likewise, I prefer E32's over the mushy E38's.

The late ‘80s were better IMO, more angular and chiseled.
