It is. They realized that “biological tail structure with bone spikes” didn’t have a name until the Far Side, so it was moved that “Thagomizer” was it, and accepted.

Yeah, google thagomizer. Apparently nobody had thought to give the spikes an actual name, so when Larson drew this it stuck. At a professional level.
