Ive read differing things about these sort of robots and mostly it centres on reliability and cost. Doesnt matter if your weapon sucks if youre the last one running.

Yeah it seems spinners are the new thing, like flippers in the original robot wars. Newer more compact motors and batteries have made them so much more viable.
