Am I right, or am I right? Purportedly, the original (as appeared in Design for Dreaming) was last seen somewhere around 1962 and might have once been in New Jersey.

True story: chrome or rubber ogive shapes on car bumpers are referred to as “ Dagmar s”.

Another interesting fact: the split window on the Golden Rocket concept eventually led to the famous split window on the first year C2 Corvette.

I think if one were to build a modern Golden Rocket, the best plan would probably be to lay up the fiberglass molds for the body-work, use portions of C1 Corvette and ‘57 Olds interior pieces (all available repro), and to use a turn-key C1 Corvette chassis, as is available new from several distributors. The short wheelbase, design for fiberglass body, and the rest make it a natural choice, and with info missing on what was under the concept, I suspect it might have been a C1 originally.
