(in some places, the worst in 130 YEARS)...we’ve had something like 20-30% of what our usual rainfall would be, and, in some cases, even less in areas like Shelburne and around Bridgewater/Mahone Bay/Lunenburg where I live - it’s ridiculous.
Our own well is very low (though not empty yet) and we’re just hoping it lasts us through the winter without going bone dry as we have no idea whether the little rain we’ve had will mean the underground spring that feeds our well will freeze up completely or not...(it doesn’t help that our furnace is the hot water type and needs to bring in water from the well to top up the system every so often). If the well goes dry, that means no heat, and potentially burst pipes...
A downside to lack of rain? Gravel roads like the one I live on = dusty cars...
Wish us all luck Oppo, things aren’t looking good here...

That’s scary to think about. I wish you the best. Hopefully the spring will bring rain.

The terms Nova Scotia and dry make sense separately but not together. Bet the pendulum swings the other way and there’s one of those nasty grey, wet winters with little snow but lots of rain.
Must be crazy though - your car looks like they’ve been salting already. That doesn’t start for another two/three weeks.

Maybe get one of these installed before winter hits? Grew up with one of these in the house. It was annoying, but always worked.

Here’s hoping! :/

Yup, there was a tiny bit of rain the other day so it looks better now, but the rain we’ve got in the past week is next to nothing...
I’m almost hoping we get hit by a few hurricanes just to get the rain...

Weirdly, the house had a wood stove at some point before we bought it, but the previous owners removed it and it’s chimney. Would be handy right about now...
Probably too expensive and complex to get done in a hurry. There are no rooms with our layout where we could put one, and as we only have an oil furnace, not sure the current chimney could support both.
