As you may have heard, the 2018 Chevrolet Equinox just debuted yesterday. Looks are open for interpretation, but the big news here is clearly the new 1.6L Turbo-diesel engine option that gets up to 40mpg, the first in it’s smaller SUV class.
The new Equinox gets the updated, and arguably more premium/luxurious Chevrolet interior. Other details should be listed in the video above. What do you think about the new 2018 Chevrolet Equinox?

I’m keeping it OG. But there should be more diesel options. How many have there been since the Jeep Liberty CRD?

The Equinox went from being one of my least favourite vehicles to my favourite CUV.

Too late bringing the redesign to market, my post #dieselgate dollars are going to Mazda unless something crazy happens in the next month.
I drove the 2016 (17?) that they had sitting on the lot and wanted to run screaming between the plastics and the sticker price.

I’m more interested in what that engine will go in next, will the Equinox diesel end up in the Sonic and Cruze? What numbers will we get out of those?

I don’t blame you when it comes to the current generation of Equinox. We’ll see just how the diesel does. Jeep seems to be doing alright with the Grand Cherokee diesel.

As far as SUVs/crossovers?
Here is the entire list of diesel SUVs that I’m aware of that were actually sold into the US market, in chronological order.
1978-1981 Chevrolet/GMC Suburban, Oldsmobile 5.7 NA V8
1982-1987 Chevrolet Blazer, Detroit Diesel 6.2 NA V8
1982-1991 Chevrolet/GMC Suburban, Detroit Diesel 6.2 NA V8
1985-1987 Jeep Cherokee, Renault 2.1 turbo I4
1985-1987 Ford Bronco II, Mitsubishi 2.3 turbo I4
1988?-1996 Centurion Classic 350, International 7.3 NA? and turbo V8 (I’m fuzzy on this one - it’s an aftermarket conversion of the Ford F-350 into a Suburban clone, and there’s probably two or three different engines encompassed by those years, and some got aftermarket turbo kits installed by Centurion I believe)
1992-1999 Chevrolet/GMC Suburban, Detroit Diesel 6.5 turbo V8
1994-1998 GMC Yukon/Chevrolet Blazer/Tahoe, Detroit Diesel 6.5 turbo V8
THE LIBERTY LINE IS BELOW - this is where stuff that was available after the discontinuation of the Liberty starts appearing.
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
2004, 2006-2008 Volkswagen Touareg, Volkswagen 4.9 twin turbo V10 (damnit, it’s not a 5.0)
2005-2006 Jeep Liberty, VM Motori 2.8 turbo I4
2009-2015 Audi Q7, Audi 3.0 turbo V6
2009-2010 Volkswagen Touareg, Audi 3.0 turbo V6
2011-2016 Volkswagen Touareg/2013-2016 Porsche Cayenne, Audi 3.0 turbo V6
2014-present Jeep Grand Cherokee, VM Motori 3.0 turbo V6
(if it actually launches) 2018 Chevrolet Equinox, Opel 1.6 turbo I4
I’m leaving off things like F-650 conversions, mind you.

We are looking around small crossovers for a family hauler. This just shot to the top of the list. I really believe that the new Equinox will be a game changer.
