Came in dead last. Had to convince the tech guy to let me actually compete because he thought my car was going to fold in half. Then I drove it three hours home in the night so I could be at Cars and Coffee for 8 AM. I love this damn car. Getting about 11 MPG now.

A manual trans and steady 60 mph cruising helped out a lot

That’s an awesome picture. The C3 has grown on me so much. It might be my favorite Vette. Great looking car man!

Oh how I wish we had hillclimb events here. There’s a park here that’s perfect for it with plenty of runoff on all sides.
Granted, Lubbock is pretty flat but this is one of the few places that actually has enjoyable elevation changes.

You should know that the saga of the cletusvette has pushed me over the edge to abandoning all other plans and finally getting that C3 I’ve wanted all my life. Thank you.

Nothing really. I did some preventative Maintenance and replaced a failing alternator mount but other than that it's been 100% good.

A squirrely, tire-spinning, deafening bastard. In other words, perfect.

Oh, I’ll do it! Sadly, I want a ‘79, because I was born in ‘79, and my dad gave me a ‘79 Vette as my first car. And they’re hot.
I know they’re slow, but engines are easy to replace. The handling is the bitch on these.
