If the apartment building still looked like a school on the inside. Yes, yes it does:
Here’s a panorama of the apartment itself (a little panorama funkiness)
Cactus for your time:

While cool, seems like an enormous waste of space.

That’s pretty legit.

I’d agree, however, the investment to tear out all of those walls would be immense.

True. Maybe just narrow the hall enough to give every apartment an extra mudroom/closet space? A front hall area? Could probably give each apartment another three feet into the hall. Although it was probably maintained for the aesthetic.

I certainly think it is.

That's fucking awesome

The back hall (where I am) is much narrower, the front hall could use... something.

It looks a little too barren. It’d be cool if they had stuff from the school or the time of the school’s founding on the walls. Art, pictures of the city, whatever.

Literally turn it into a gallery. Put some sculptures in the middle of the hallway.

looks fantastic.
Do those doors open into the hallway?
![]() 09/17/2016 at 01:46 |

Yes, because of the original fire safety.

That’s pretty sweet!
I worked at a School conversion back in Moline that was pretty nice but they carpeted all the wood floors. If it weren’t for that it would have been great.

Oh, okay. I’ve very rarely seen doors that open into the hallway but I guess for a school it makes sense.

Looks awesome!

Very cool!
I never had a cool apartment. Mine were all boring,

I just couldn’t do boring. It might cost a bit more, and cost more on utilities, but it’s interesting. Basically, my apartment habits are Jalop as f*** too.

Like, Minneapolis-Moline Moline?

Yup. Not quite as awesome though!

Haha, M-M is my favorite tractor brand, followed by Allis-Chalmers.
(Yes, I have a favorite tractor brand, I’m a dork)

Nothing wrong there. I grew up on International Harvester. At one point almost my entire family worked for them. Once I actually purchase some land you can bet there’ll be an old IH parked out front as a yard guard.

The 1466 is still possibly the greatest looking tractor of all time.

Give me a 1066 Turbo.

Ha!
The last couple places I had apartments the options were limited to normal, shit-hole, or van down by the river.
