That 15 year law makes quite a difference in what you can import. Cars just new enough that you can daily without much concern.
EDIT: Someone pointed out those are diplomat plates, car is not 15 years old yet, but almost.

Yeah.

And it’s on Diplomat plates, so it might not even be 15 years old.

Oh, good catch. I googled it and the 2001 model (15 years old) actually was the previous generation, which looked like this:

That generation’s not quite 15 years old, but almost. It still looks great!

It's weird seeing people driving RHD Rav4s and CRVs and stuff like that

Ok guys, I know France is an exotic place for you and all, but seriously, you do not want a Megane.

Certainly not of that generation. The brand new one and the third gen are fine.

The truly exciting Meganes tend to be the Renaultsport versions, not the convertibles. xP

Meanwhile this car is seen as ‘seriously uncool’ in its home market. I can’t really blame them, it is basically a mid-life crisis spec Megane after all.
But it’s got charm I guess.
You could call it a homage to this too.

The hatchback version though…
It was distinctive, to say the least.

Parts of me can’t help but want to Import a Renault Avantime. Since I’m Canadian I could do it quite easily.

I heard of people living in Tiajuana and working in San Diego i’m curious how that works because then you don’t even have a 15 year rule. I could communite to work in a new VW Scirocco or whatever I choose to drive.
But then i’d have to live in Tiajuana....
