I think the 2000GT is one of the most beautiful cars aver made (even gorgeouser than the legendary E-Type) and I only recently learned they made a targa version.
Well, made might be a little strong. It was a one-off, made for the James Bond movie You Only Live Twice. A convertible version was also made. Sean Connery’s 6"2' frame was too big to fit comfortably in the targa version, so the convertible was used in the film.

Who even needs structural integrity when you look that good?

Could a 2000 be any sexier? Apparently the answer is “yes.”

Yep, it was one of the best Bond movies too - with the ninjas and the volcano.

Toyota had to make the ‘vert version for Sean because he was too tall to fit in the coupe. They did it in record timing, too.

So I can only fit in the convertible version of the 2000GT. Good to know if I happen to find bales of money on the beach one day.

They made two ‘verts for the movie, correct. Now they’re museum pieces.

They are just.... desperately pretty. Now they make Camrys.

They are, though at least Toyota are still making a few cool brand new cars.
Shame the LFA is out of production though.

I’d rather have this over the new one. I know I’ll get flack...but I don’t like the new FRS thing. It’s...meh...to me at least.

I agree with you. I like the Toybaru twins, but the original 86 had a lot more style (plus I have a good personal experience with E80 Corollas).
Also Initial D.

Awesome duo, wagon and rotary. Have you made any posts about them? I’d be interested to hear.

I owned those guys like five years ago. 1983 Corolla Wagon, stock minus the wheels. The FC3S was my second one. That was a 87, Turbo II, S5 housings, rotors, T something turbo (I can’t remember), bigger injectors, slight drop. I’d have to drag up more old pics... I should do that though..I’ve owned some weird shit.
