It sounded just as tractor like as I remember, and the exhaust smell was precisely the same. It made me miss our collosal pile of crap that was our Volvo for a moment.

I want a lotus replica one day. The hardest choice would be put an ecoboost like my mind tells me or something loud and as large as possible like my heart tells me.

Yup, we talked to the owner, he bought the car in Scotland. It’s got some minor rust in small places but otherwise it’s taken care of by the PO.

Honestly, the Redblock is a decent choice for these. Not overkill in the power department, but can fairly easily be put there. It is also a relatively torquey engine.

Even if you put a small ecoboost in there (what, 1.4L?), I’m sure it can still be loud if you go easy on the muffler game - maybe just go straight resonator. The Abarth 500’s sound awesome with their tiny muffler-less engine!

But I second you on this...

I would so love a Caterham 7 kit - even just the basic one - but a) they’re pretty expensive and b) not as easy to get in the US from what I’ve seen.

I’ve been thinking an Exocet kit instead... not a Lotus (body) unfortunately, but same idea - except with a Miata!

The reason they're not easy to get is that they are expensive. They also have to be kit cars. Regardless I would love to have one.
